Passed At The Last Minute

Phew! With the clock running out on the 40th Parliament, MPs and senators rushed to pass Bill C-55, the first legislation to amend the Canadian Forces Members and Veterans Re-Establishment and Compensation Act, known as the New Veterans Charter (NVC). Though introduced on Nov. 17, the bill had languished over the Christmas break and fallen off the radar for most parliamentarians.
